Last night, Advance Design Consultants, Inc. President & Founder, Lorenzo Rios, P.E. spoke to college engineering students about career paths and what it means to be a Design Consultant at the ASHRAE San Jose Chapter’s Engineering Career Path Panel Discussion. Mr. Rios, was one of five panelists offering their experience and perspective on the options afforded to young engineers as they start their career. Each of the five panelist were representative of a different career option within the Engineering field. Mr. Rios highlighted his education in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and how that lead him to becoming a Design Consultant and ultimately the founder of Advance Design Consultants & ADC Construction Management. Other panelists included Ryan Wall from Silicon Valley Mechanical representing the Design-Build career path, Jack Walker from WaterTech Specialties, Inc. who spoke regarding water treatment and management careers, Mark Challino from Edges Group and AFE 39 who highlighted careers in Facilities Engineering, and Ken Mozek from Air Treatment who represented Vendor-based careers.
ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, is a global society focused on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. The San Jose Chapter hosts events for local engineers and engineering students. ADC’s VP, Lorenzo Rios, Jr. is currently the Refrigeration Chair for the San Jose Chapter.
