City Hall Chilled Water System Improvements

Project Scope
ADC provided mechanical and electrical design as well as architectural alternatives and support for improvements to the existing infrastructure to provision for the installation of a 200-gallon rooftop Chiller.
Challenges
The City Hall Network Operations Center, which the work was supporting, was presently housing and operating 450 servers that adequate cooling would be needed for. In addition, ADC would need to provide all cost analysis, system analysis and schematic design as a predecessor to the final design to assist the City of San Jose with selecting the desired design and equipment options for the system.
Solution
Our team first prepared calculations to establish cooling load and impact to the existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Then, equipment locations were determined and supported with structural calculations as well as architectural designs to support modifications to the existing building. After review with the client, ADC continued by providing 100% design for the system and all subsequent modifications as well as budgets, schedules, bid packages for the construction phase and startup and comissioning of the system.
